President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković, together with Vice President and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities, Ótott Róbert, today presented the representatives of 17 national councils of national minorities from AP Vojvodina with contracts on the allocation of funds for co-financing their activities in 2025.

A total of 80 million dinars has been allocated for the fixed costs of the national councils, as well as for the costs of regular activities – for programmes and projects in the field of education, culture, information and official use of minority languages and scripts and financing the work of institutions, foundations and companies, whose founder or co-founder is the council or whose founding rights have been partially or fully transferred to the council.

President Gojković emphasised that the allocated funds were among the best indicators of full respect for the principle of exercising all guaranteed rights of national minorities in the Republic of Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

"The fact that today we are allocating the highest amount of funds in the last 11 years is evidence of how important it is for the Provincial Government that the national councils continue to work dedicatedly to achieving their goals," said Ms Gojković, adding that today's allocation also had a symbolic significance, as it spoke of the centuries-old coexistence of all peoples in this region.

The President reiterated that the Provincial Government had been allocating funds for the work of the national councils for ten years.
"Since 2015, more than 700 million dinars have been allocated for this purpose from the Provincial budget, and today we are awarding contracts to a larger number of beneficiaries than before. All this testifies to the good course of the policy pursued by the Provincial Government in this area, aimed at ensuring that each national council can deal with challenges as independently as possible and be as creative as possible in promoting ideas and implementing projects of interest to national minorities," said President Gojković.

Compared to 2024, additional ten million dinars have been allocated from the Provincial budget for this purpose in the current year.

Vice President and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities, Ótott Róbert, also addressed the participants at the award ceremony, emphasising that that confirmed the commitment of the Provincial Government to preserving the identity and rights of all communities in Vojvodina.

“Our Province is an example of coexistence, understanding and mutual respect and the national councils of national minorities have an invaluable role in preserving these values,” said Vice President Ótott.
