Co-financing of ethnic communities
This type of financial support is provided, according to the capacity of the AP Vojvodina Budget, based on the Provincial Assembly Decision on the Allocation of Budgetary Resources for the Promotion of the Status of National Minorities - National Communities and the Development of Multiculturalism and Tolerance ("Official Journal of APV", No. 8/2019).
Associations, funds and foundations of persons belonging to national minorities - national communities, which have their registered office in the territory of the AP Vojvodina, are entitled to allocation of budgetary resources of the Provincial Secretariat, for the purpose of improving the status of national minorities - national communities.
The right to allocate budgetary resources of the Provincial Secretariat, for the purpose of developing of multiculturalism and tolerance, is granted to associations, funds and foundations whose projects and programmes are aimed at preserving and fostering interethnic tolerance and which have their registered office in the territory of the AP Vojvodina.
Associations, funds and foundations of the Roma national community, which have their registered office in the territory of the AP Vojvodina, are entitled to allocation of budgetary resources of the Provincial Secretariat, for the purpose of promoting the status of persons belonging to the Roma national minority.
The Secretariat announces at least one call for proposals per year. In this way, it participates in co-financing of programmes and projects of associations, funds and foundations, especially aimed at: exercising the rights of national minorities - national communities; multiculturalism, for the purpose of developing a spirit of tolerance; affirmative measures to improve the status of persons belonging to the Roma national minority; preservation and fostering of languages, national customs and old crafts; protection and presentation of folklore heritage; creation of conditions for development of culture, science and arts; nurturing and encouraging national creativity; presentation of cultural goods of exceptional importance; literary, dramatic, performing, musical and visual arts, memorials, festivals, jubilees, art colonies, camps for fostering the tolerance and rights of national minorities - national communities; conferences, tournaments, gatherings and the like, for fostering the tolerance and rights of national minorities - national communities; fostering and developing of amateurism, guest performances of ensembles; cooperation with home countries and other forms of cooperation.
The text of the competition is published in all newspapers in the languages of minority national communities in the AP Vojvodina, as well as on this web site, while the highest-circulation papers in Serbian language report on them.
The final decision on the allocation of available funds is made by the Provincial Secretary, after obtaining the opinion of national councils, or the Special Tender Commission, in case of applications which national councils have not commented on within the deadline, applications of organisations of persons belonging to national minorities - national communities that have not established their national councils, as well as applications of other organisations which, in accordance with the decision, are entitled to the allocation of these funds.
