Sixty-one point six million RSD for the co-financing of annual activities of national councils for 2021
Vice-President of the Provincial Government, Provincial Secretary Szakállas Zsolt officially awarded the contracts on the allocation of funds to the representatives of the national councils of national minorities. The total of 61.6 RSD from the Provincial Budget has been allocated for the implementation of annual activities of 17 national councils which have registered headquarters in the AP Vojvodina.
"The total amounts we allocate to national councils this year are the same as those allocated last year, but they confirm the persistence, tendency and above all, the determination of the Provincial Government and our Secretariat to invest in the work and development of national councils in the future, partly by increasing financial aid in the future", stated Mr. Szakállas during the contract award ceremony.
The allocated funds are intended for co-financing of regular activities and fixed costs of national councils, and will be paid quarterly, in four equal parts, until the end of 2021.
"Unfortunately, this year as well, the situation with the pandemic does not subside and we are all forced to adjust our work, activities, programmes so that persons belonging to national minorities do not experience difficult working conditions and that their rights are smoothly implemented in all areas of life. Therefore, being under pressure due to the new aggravating circumstances, I expect that with joint efforts, in solidarity and unity, we will successfully achieve all this year's goals ", Secretary added.
The funds were allocated to the national councils of Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian, Croatian, Roma, Ruthenian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, Bunjevac, Czech, Ukrainian, German, Polish, Ashkali, Egyptian, Greek and Russian national minorities.
