60 Million Dinars for Procurement of Video Surveillance in Provincial Schools
Vice-President of the Provincial Government, Provincial Secretary Róbert Ótott awarded contracts today worth 60 million RSD for the procurement of video surveillance and equipment for connecting to the monitoring room. The funds were earmarked for 42 secondary schools in territory of the AP Vojvodina.
“This call for proposal was launched for the first time last year - in the value of twenty million RSD, for primary and secondary schools. Although it was a significant contribution, this year we recognised that we can and must do more, thus tripling the value of the call for proposals. The advantage was given to the schools which would receive the funding for the equipment of monitoring rooms from the local self-governments. In this way we demonstrate that safety and responsibility are common priorities - of both schools and local communities.” - said Róbert Ótott, Vice-President of the Provincial Government, Provincial Secretary.
While officially presenting the contracts, Ótott noted the importance of the triple increase in funds for the procurement of video surveillance in just one year.
“Children’s safety sets the foundation for their future. The Provincial Government remains committed to providing support and planning the increase in funds in order to provide best possible conditions for education. Next year, primary schools will also be eligible to apply for funds. In addition to safety, we continue with investments in school buildings. Renovation and modernisation of schools, as well as the construction of new classrooms, sport gyms and other facilities are crucial for the improvement of education. Our goals is to have safe and pleasant schools, with optimal working and learning conditions. Investments in the educational infrastructure are investments in the future of our children and our community” - concluded Ótott.
The call for proposals was open from 06 to 20 September 2024. The total of 55 applications (54 by secondary schools and one by the student accommodation institution) were submitted, out of which 42 fulfilled all requirements for the allocation of funds.
